CONFIDENTIALITY

All information shared during sessions, as well as written records pertaining to those sessions, is kept confidential and will not be disclosed without your written permission, except where disclosure is required by law.

WHEN DISCLOSURE IS REQUIRED BY LAW

Disclosure may be required under the following circumstances, including but not limited to:

Reasonable suspicion of child, dependent adult, or elder abuse or neglect
If a client presents a danger to themselves, others, or property
If a client is considered gravely disabled

EMERGENCIES

If an emergency arises during our work together, or after services have ended, and there is concern for your safety or the safety of others, Laurie Holland Nessland will act within the limits of the law to help ensure appropriate care.

This may include contacting your designated emergency contact.

CONFIDENTIALITY OF EMAIL & TEXT COMMUNICATION

Electronic communication (email, text, online platforms) carries potential risks, including but not limited to:

Messages being sent to the wrong recipient
Loss or theft of devices containing confidential information
Interception by unauthorized third parties

Please do not use email or text messaging for emergencies.

TELEHEALTH

Sessions may be conducted via secure online platforms. While reasonable efforts are made to protect your privacy, there are inherent risks associated with electronic communication.

Telehealth is not appropriate for crisis or emergency situations
You may be asked to provide your current physical location at the time of your session
In the event of technical difficulties, attempts will be made to reconnect
If reconnection is not possible, an alternative method (such as phone) may be used

SCOPE OF PRACTICE

Services provided through Healthy Holistics are educational and supportive in nature, focusing on stress reduction, emotional awareness, and mind-body integration.

These services are not psychotherapy, counseling, or mental health treatment unless explicitly agreed upon in a separate clinical agreement.

PROFESSIONAL ROLE CLARIFICATION

Although Laurie Holland Nessland is a licensed clinical counselor, services provided through Healthy Holistics are offered in a holistic and educational capacity.

A clinical therapeutic relationship is not established through these services unless explicitly agreed upon in writing.

HOLISTIC INTEGRATIVE SERVICES

Sessions are designed to support stress reduction, emotional awareness, and overall well-being by promoting balance within the mind and body.

These approaches support the body’s natural ability to heal but do not diagnose, treat, or cure medical or psychological conditions.

During sessions, memory events are considered “emotional reality” (perception), and may or may not reflect historical or factual events.

The techniques and tools used are intended to complement—not replace—conventional medical, psychological, or psychiatric care.

These services are not medical advice
They are not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment
No physician-patient or therapist-client relationship is established

If you have concerns about your health, please consult a licensed healthcare provider.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY

You are responsible for your own physical, mental, and emotional well-being during and after sessions.

You agree to seek appropriate professional care when needed and to communicate openly about any concerns that may impact your safety or well-being.

PAYMENTS

Payment is due in full prior to or at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

RESCHEDULING & CANCELLATION POLICY

Laurie Holland Nessland understands that unexpected circumstances arise and will do her best to accommodate changes when possible.

Virtual sessions under 1.5 hours: Minimum 48 hours’ notice required
Intensives (3+ hours): Minimum 72 hours’ notice required
Late cancellations/reschedules will incur a 50% fee
No-shows will be charged in full
Sessions may be rescheduled once per booking

This policy ensures respect for both your time and Laurie’s preparation and presence.

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to release, waive, and discharge Healthy Holistics and Laurie Holland Nessland from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in services.

This includes any loss, damage, or injury (including death) that may occur during or in connection with sessions, whether in person, virtual, or in transit.

GOVERNING LAW

This agreement shall be governed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado.
